Jax Hsu

Jax Hsu also known as “Jax Fermada,” has been bboying for 15 years and continues to elevate his skills as a bboy. He represents the “Now or Never Crew” and “Nation of Funk” from Vancouver, Canada. As a Chinese/Taiwanese growing up in Canada he has developed a unique style. He credits his distinct style to his Eastern roots and Western upbringing. His athleticism allows him to be very musical and swift, but he also has a creative side that emphasises his funky character which earned him the nickname of the “Fresh Prince of Taiwan.”

He has competed on an international stage since 2008, represented Canada in Battle of the Year (Germany) and performed in the closing ceremony of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. In 2012 he collaborated with the Keep Going Breaking crew (Taiwan) to win the R-16 South-East Asia crew finals and represented Taiwan in the world finals (South Korea). In 2015, he was invited to compete in the Red Bull BC One Canada Cyphers and finished top 8 in the country.

First and foremost Jax is an artist, not just a dancer. He is a student of life and believes in the philosophy of “Each one teach one.” His ultimate goal is to share the experiences he has gained from his breaking journey with the bboy/bgirl dance community of the world.
